It’s all about the bake this Festive season and these buttery biscuits are perfect to get a little creative when it comes to the decoration and your choice of cookie cutters.
Made with a simple cookie dough, it's the ideal recipe to fit in around all that Christmas shopping and wrapping.

INGREDIENTS:
- 300g Plain Flour
- 250g Softened Butter
- 140g Caster Sugar
- 2 tsp Vanilla Extract
- 1 Egg Yolk
METHOD:

Preheat the oven to 160°C/Gas Mark 3

Mix 250g softened butter and 140g caster sugar in a large bowl with a wooden spoon.

Add the egg and 2 tsp vanilla extract and beat lightly to combine. Sift over 300g plain flour and mix until all the mixture is well combined
- You may need to get your hands in to give everything one good mix and press the dough together.
- Lightly flour the surface and roll out the dough to about 5mm thick (1/4 inch). Cut out your shapes and place on a baking tray with some baking parchment or non stick cooking sheets.
- Bake in the preheated oven for about 12 to 15 minutes. Place on a wire rack to cool and harden.
- The Fun Part: Getting Creative... We choose to decorate with chocolate and caramel icing pens and lots sprinkles to decorate our biscuits.
